✦ Why we chose it

Wirecutter's top pick for small dogs. The air-mesh construction is genuinely more comfortable than nylon for sensitive small breeds, and the escape-proof design is a must for Chihuahuas and Dachshunds.

Puppia's Soft Harness is the Wirecutter-recommended choice for small and toy breeds. The breathable air-mesh vest distributes pressure across the chest (never the neck), the quick-release buckle makes it easy to put on, and the adjustable chest belt ensures a snug, escape-proof fit. With 50,000+ Amazon reviews at 4.5 stars, it is the most trusted small-dog harness on the market.

Pros

  • ✓Breathable mesh keeps small dogs cool
  • ✓Wirecutter top pick for small dogs
  • ✓Quick-release buckle is easy on/off
  • ✓Machine washable

Cons

  • ✗Back clip only — less effective for very strong pullers
  • ✗No front clip for advanced training
