✦ Why we chose it

Vets consistently recommend water fountains for cats — this is the best-reviewed smart version that alerts you when it needs attention.

Cats are notoriously poor water drinkers, which can contribute to kidney and urinary issues. The PETLIBRO Dockstream 2 circulates water continuously and pairs a 3-liter reservoir with a stainless-steel drinking tray. Its cordless, battery-operated design and app monitoring make placement and upkeep easier while helping owners track water intake.

Pros

  • ✓Encourages cats to drink more water
  • ✓Filter alerts prevent stale water
  • ✓Near-silent operation

Cons

  • ✗Filter replacement is an ongoing cost
  • ✗2L capacity needs refilling every 2–3 days for multiple cats
